We did a Thing (and more)
This is where you get to see and hear about all the cool stuffs we have done so far during our journey of growth and exploration into the secret life of plants.
S.T.E.A.M. Night Debut
The Garden Gurus debut!! What a wonderful turn out to the STEAM night and even more amazing the amount of people that were interested in our new project. I had an inkling that there would be a small niche of kiddos that would be interested in a program that involved getting their hands a little dirty, but we were extremely surprised at how many people were actually waiting for an opportunity like this. Good things on the horizon, I just feel it!

Shout out to Ms. Nina for letting us share a table with you so we could get the word out!
International Festival
The Garden Gurus had a pleasant surprise when we were asked to showcase our program at the International Festival, and even more surprised when we were told that we would have our own table.
We were honored to meet so many new plant lovers and to hear about how excited their children were to be able to learn more about plants and the important role they play in our day to day lives.
We have been blessed with this opportunity and hope to continue growing as more and more kiddos learn how amazing nature can be.
Earthly Explorations
(an after school affair)
Our very first after school session was a success!! All of the kiddos came in super excited, ready to learn and get their hands dirty.

Our first session we learned about pine trees from the tips of their needles to the seeds of the cones. after watching a short video on the life cycle, we dug into our activity of making one of my favorites, almond butter, bird seed pine cones.

With fingers covered in almond butter and bird seed, they created the most beautiful bird feeders that birds (and possibly squirrels) will feast on for days.
Campus Beatification Day
What a huge success on our Campus Cleanup! Everyone was able to finish the tasks they were assigned and even had help from our mini gurus.

We cut back a lot of growth that was taking over numerous plant life and pruned all the plants that had been needing a good trim. Although we had a few run ins with the local ant colonies, we managed to make it out bite free and still get the job done.

Thank you to everyone that lended their helping hands and we hope to see you again at our future cleanups.
